Announcing a compact true diversity radio transceiver for industrial applications in the congested 2.4 GHz band.

Circuit Design, Inc, the leading supplier of low power radio modules, has announced the release of the STD-504, a 2.4 GHz radio transceiver module.
Aimed at industrial applications, the small and compact size makes it suitable for embedding in industrial equipment.
The STD-504 utilises the ISM 2.4 GHz band allowing worldwide operation and is compliant with EN, FCC, ISED and ARIB standards making it suitable for the global market.
For reliable communication, the module incorporates direct sequence spread spectrum technology making it highly resistant to interference in the 2.4 GHz band achieving over 300m line of sight communication. The low voltage operation gives the option of communication using battery power.
True diversity in the form of two independent receiving circuits ensure the highest signal level is demodulated providing communication stability and avoiding dropouts due to multipath interference. Additional transmitter diversity is available by selecting the antenna used for transmission.
Configuration using commands is possible through a serial interface with additional data in and out terminals providing a transparent interface to use own or existing protocols without adjustment.
In addition to setting channels individually, the channel step option allows the user to program and step through a channel plan (20 channels maximum) on the STD-504 using a toggle pin.
