1981 OEM supply of wireless microphones to Samson Technologies Corp. starts
1983 Reorganized as a joint stock company, Circuit Design, Inc.
1989 Remote engine starter ES-89 released
1991 Representative office opened in Bremen, Germany
OEM supply of engine starters to Japanese automobile company starts
Sales subsidiary CD Trading, Inc. established
1993 RF module for Europe exhibited at Hanover Messe
1994 BZT approved radio module CDP-01 launched
Move to new premises completed in Hotaka
1998 Capital increased to 40 million yen
Radio module business in Japan starts with ARIB approved STD-402

Both of us were interested in radios since we were small. But portable radios were very expensive. At that time, germanium radios were used as a teaching material in children's science lessons. We really looked forward to getting our hands on them.

Publications about the company

Circuit Design, Inc. was founded in 1974 by electronics engineer Kazuo Maruyama(Chairman) and Yukinaga Koike (President). Kazuo Maruyama, who previously worked in the development of hybrid circuits and in the electronics-engineering department of a private company, had a strong interest in wireless audio transmission and this was the reason why he founded his own business – he has been a radio enthusiast for most of his life.
